A boat was overboard by a whale today near Tices Shoal in Barnegat Bay.
According to witnesses, the whale swam toward the boat and collided with it several times with great force.
Fortunately, the person who ended up in the sea was quickly rescued and is now safe.
Shortly after the incident, it became clear that the whale did not survive the encounter with the boat.
The whale has died and will be recovered by authorities.
Whales are generally considered gentle creatures,
but this incident demonstrates that you can never trust a whale.
It's possible that the animal itself was frightened by the boat, disoriented, or panicked by the crowds of boats or the noise of the sea.
