is especially true in well-known regions like the Hautes-Vosges in France, where nature and private land often coexist.
Not every green space is simply a suitable overnight spot for campers or caravans.
A while ago, things went terribly wrong when dozens of vehicles parked on a farmer's land without prior consultation.
The large collection of vehicles, from campers to sports cars, caused considerable disruption but also led to a protest: manure trucks were deployed to make the land impassable.
This served as a strong message to others that the boundaries of the farmer's land must be respected.
Camping is fun, as long as you respect the rules and the owners of the land. So, carefully check where you're allowed to pitch,
avoid trouble, and keep things tidy for everyone.
