Video: Robbery in Durban: money car blown up and loot gone in seconds

Like you're watching a scene from an action movie, but this is just a harsh reality. In the Newlands West district, near a shopping mall in Durban, South Africa, things recently went completely wild when a group of heavily armed guests decided to intercept a transport of money.

On images that are now circulating, you can see how the armored car is clamped. No shouting, no doubt, just tight. And then comes the moment you might already be afraid of: explosives. Within a few seconds, the car is blown open as if it were a can of coke with a cobra in it.

The loot is then quickly transferred into ready escape cars, while everything and everyone around them has yet to realize what is actually happening. A few seconds later they are gone. Other images still show one of the perpetrators holding a security guard under fire, but that seems mainly for safety. No one is really going to intervene in this situation. Machine guns, explosives... on the other hand, you shouldn't want to be a hero in a country like South Africa.

Emergency services arrived at the scene, but nothing has been officially confirmed about injuries or arrests at this time. And that makes the whole thing extra wry, because these kinds of cash-in-transit robberies have unfortunately become almost routine in South Africa: well-organized teams, heavy weapons and zero hesitation.
